1. What is a subscription?

 

A magazine subscription saves you the trouble of going to the shops every month to purchase a copy of your favourite magazine.  Instead, you can enjoy the convenience of having your magazine delivered to the address of your choice.  Delivery is FREE of charge for UK subscribers.

  

2. How can I order a subscription?

 
Once you have selected the magazine of your choice, taking out a subscription could not be easier. You can order your subscription using the following methods:


Online

Choose your magazine from the pull-down menu on the home page. Then select your choice of subscription – personal or gift. Simply select the number of issues required and add it to your shopping cart.

3. How will my subscription order(s) be confirmed?

 

When you subscribe, you will receive a confirmation of your order via email, which will include your subscription start issue and your personalised subscriber number. Please keep a record of this number and quote it when contacting our offices.

If you have ordered by phone, post or fax, you will be sent an acknowledgment letter within 14 days of your order (UK only), detailing your subscription start issue and your personal subscriber number. Overseas orders will receive their acknowledgment within 28 days.

If you have not received your order confirmation or your first issue after 28 days, please call our Customer Enquiry hotline on +44 (0) 1795 414746.

  

4. When will the first issue be despatched?

 

You should receive your first issue within 7–28 days of having first placed your order, depending on the publication date of the magazine.  Most BBC magazines are published one month in advance of the date on the cover, for example, the July issue is published in the month of June. Your order conformation will tell you when to expect your first issue.

  

5. If I take out a gift subscription, will the recipient receive the subscription confirmation?

 

No, you will receive the acknowledgment letter outlining the start issue and subscription details, with a greetings card to personalise and send on to the subscription recipient. 

For BBC Top Gear and BBC Good Food magazine the magazine recipient will also receive a subscriber card, which will be despatched under separate cover within 28 days (see point 14 for information on subscriber cards).

  

6. Christmas subscription orders

 

If you purchase a gift subscription for a friend or relative as a Christmas gift, you will be sent an acknowledgment letter and a Christmas card on which to send a personal message.
All Christmas subscription orders will commence with the February issue published in the month of January.

  

7. How do I renew my subscription?

 

You can renew your subscription online once you have registered on the BBC Magazines website.  When you register, you will receive a username and password, which will enable you to login and renew your subscription. Simply select your magazine from the drop-down box on the home page and click on the “Renew Subscription” icon.

Whether you are taking out a subscription for yourself or as a gift, we will send you a renewal notification towards the end of your subscription. You can either complete and return the form to us by post or call the credit-card order hotline on: + 44 (0) 1795 414716, quoting your subscriber number.

  

8. How do I change my address?

 

You can change your address online but you must be a registered user on the website. Once you have registered, you will be emailed a username and password, which you will need to access your subscription account online and change your address.

9. Missing magazine

 

If your magazine has not been delivered, you can call the Customer Enquiry line on
+44 (0) 1795 414746 and we will check that we have the correct address and arrange for a replacement copy to be sent out.

10. Missing supplement or free gift on the front of your magazine

 

If you have not received a supplement or free cover gift, simply call the Customer Enquiry line on
01795 414746 and they will arrange for a replacement to be sent out.

If you live outside the UK, most supplements and covermounts are not available.

  

11. Damaged magazine

 

If your magazine arrives damaged, simply contact the Customer Enquiry line on +44 (0) 1795 414746 and they will arrange for a replacement copy to be sent out. Or email us at bbc@galleon.co.uk

  

12. Can I order an issue that is no longer on sale?

 

You can order back issues online. Just click on the back-issue icon and select the magazine issue you'd like. The available magazines and prices are listed.

If you wish to purchase a previous issue other than the latest one available in the shops, you can also call the Enquiry line on  +44 (0) 1795 414746.  They will have a list of all available back issues and prices. Please allow up to 28 days for delivery.

  

13. Ordering from outside the UK

 

If you want to subscribe and you live outside the UK, please click on the button that says "Non-UK subscribers please click here" on the home page of the magazine of your choice.

  
14. Additional subscriber benefits  

All BBC Top Gear, BBC Good Food, BBC Music Magazine and BBC Gardeners' World subscribers are entitled to receive additional benefits.

BBC Top Gear magazine subscribers will receive a Drivers Club card and free membership to the Top Gear Drivers Club, which means savings and offers throughout the year and includes a free key ring, exclusive reader offers, driving days and cut-price entrance to the top motorsport events.

BBC Good Food magazine subscribers will receive a Subscriber Privilege Card, which entitles you to a 5% discount on cookware purchases at over 300 cookshops throughout the UK. You also receive an exclusive monthly newsletter, which is full of discounts on cookware, reader events, travel offers and contains brilliant competitions.

BBC Music Magazine subscribers receive a monthly leaflet detailing exclusive competitions and promotions, including great savings on concerts tickets, festivals and money-off vouchers at major retail stores.

BBC Gardeners’ World magazine subscribers will receive a subscriber newsletter in every issue. It will contain details of great offers and events that are exclusive to subscribers. You will also be entitled to a 10% discount on plants, trees and shrubs at over 500 selected garden centres throughout the country with the Subscriber Privilege Discount Card that is included in every issue.
